Alicia Ruiz Bustos
Description
Alicia is a trauma-informed yoga instructor and holistic practitioner whose journey began over two decades ago in India. From the bustling streets of Rishikesh to the quiet stillness of Himalayan monasteries, she has devoted her life to the integration of body, mind, and spirit through the wisdom of yoga, healing arts, integrative medicine, the healing power of food, plants medicine & the exploration of the psyche. Her multiple trainings spans Family Constellations, Ayurveda, Shamanism, Vinyasa, Hatha, Ashtanga, Iyenga Yoga, and Yoga Therapy, and she has studied with leading teachers across India, Europe, Central America and the United States.
More than a teacher, Alicia is a space-holder. Deeply rooted in spiritual practice and guided by her own inner work, she is a certified Compassionate Inquiry practitioner—a trauma-aware psycho-therapeutic approach developed by Dr. Gabor Maté. Her work is anchored in the belief that true healing happens when we are safe enough to return to the body, reclaim our voice, and remember our inner strength.
While living in India, Alicia immersed herself in Tibetan Buddhism, completed extended courses in Vipassana meditation, and practiced Lam Rim philosophy, all of which continue to inform her approach. Her years of global teaching, retreat leading and personal transformation have shaped an unique method that honors both ancient wisdom and modern neuroscience.
She is a lead yoga teacher with La Casa Shambala Yoga School. She invites her students to explore what it means to live in truth, with sovereignty over one's body, beliefs, and destiny.
Alicia is also mother of a beautiful daughter, a lover of nature, world traveller, holistic health advocate and a believer in our own power. She lives between the raw jungles of Costa Rica where she manages a retreat center Casa Kia Ora, and her native Alicante, Spain, where she teaches at La Casa Shambala yoga School.
Her sessions are gentle yet powerful, always guided by the principles of integrity, safety, and compassion—because deep healing is possible when we feel validated and safe, it’s a return to oneself.
In her sessions she welcomes you to step into your body, reclaim your intuition, and walk the path of healing with courage and grace.
