I graduated from the Faculty of Pharmacy at Marmara University in 2000 and have spent 25 years walking the path of healing, 21 of them in my own pharmacy in Türkiye, accompanying patients on their journeys toward wellness. Along the way, I studied Aromatherapy, Homeopathy, Bach Flower Therapy, and Functional Medicine Pharmacy.
As a pharmacist, I believed healing came through medicines; as an aromatherapist, through the magical scents of essential oils; as a homeopath, through remedies; and as a Bach Flower therapist, through flower essences. Each step added a piece to the puzzle of healing, yet something was still missing.
Four years ago, I moved to Canada and discovered my ikigai. During the workshop “The Story That Your Illness Tells” with Dr. Gabor Maté, I asked him a question about the challenges of starting from scratch in a new country and not knowing where to begin. His answer changed the course of my life. It became a quiet turning point that led me to Compassionate Inquiry and helped me rediscover meaning, compassion, and belonging.
Through Compassionate Inquiry, I found the missing piece of the healing puzzle—the compassion that touches the soul. I have witnessed how compassion opens hearts, softens pain, and transforms lives, including my own. It is an honour to hold space for others and witness the gentle miracles that unfold when we are met with genuine compassion.
