For nearly 30 years, Rosemary has worked at the intersection of authenticity, psychology, and healing. After two decades in corporate marketing leadership, she founded MIBOSO®to support the holistic integration of mind, body, and soul—through authentic branding, ethical marketing, and natural healing practices. Inspired by Dr. Gabor Maté’s unique magnetic presence, she created and launched Magnetic Presence Marketing in 2025.
In this excerpt, Rosemary shares what inspired Magnetic Presence Marketing and the vision that called for the radical shift it offers to healers. Listen to the full conversation onThe Gifts of Trauma Podcast.

“I paid a lot of money for a marketing course I ended up throwing in the trash. I did great in that program. I had all the clients I wanted. I was making the best money I’ve ever made, but it wasn’t me. It didn’t feel good. It felt dirty. So I decided, ‘I can’t keep doing this. It feels trashy. It’s going in the trash.’ I have to start a brand new way, because it’s too expensive to abandon myself. It costs too much to not be me. It costs too much to be in this arena that’s so precious and tender and to be bringing people in without that magnetic presence.” – J’aime Rothbard
Inspired by Gabor Maté’s presence and magnetism, I led a focus group for a year to test my theory that when we share our vulnerability, our humanity and our truth in full presence, as Gabor does, it’s not only magnetic and attractive but also endearing. After analyzing how he presents his work, the key themes that emerged completely align with the Compassionate Inquiry® approach. Gabor is always invitational. He never says, “I’m the only one.” Or, “I’m the guru.” Instead, he says, ‘This is one approach. There are many others. Choose what’s right for you. This isn’t for everybody.’
Imagine a world where everyone offers their products, programs, or services in this way!
What led me to turn Magnetic Presence Marketing (MPM) into a training program was an interview with Amy Elizabeth Fox in April 2025. She and Thomas Hübl had just completed a pilot trauma therapy training with 200 non-clinicians: nurses, teachers, coaches… As she spoke, in my mind I saw other healing approaches that accept non-clinicians training an army of healers. In these uncertain times, they are urgently needed, and they are showing up. But what if—once they’re trained and ready to serve—they can’t get past how inauthentic it feels to use traditional marketing approaches? So they can’t be found by the clients they’ve trained to serve.
This vision made it clear that a radical shift is needed in the way healers and helping professionals market their work. There’s a need for an approach that invites helping professionals to feel as good about their marketing as they do about their work. Because when healers choose invisibility over visibility, they aren’t seen or heard, and their investments of time, energy, passion and heart aren’t utilized. What a waste!
Embodying our magnetic presence requires internal clearing, and it takes time to make this shift. So we spend the first six weeks of the MPM training detoxing and reframing what so many have learned marketing ‘should be.’ The next 10 weeks are spent inquiring, exploring, creating, drafting and implementing aligned marketing materials. Since the modules roll out weekly, I’ve added a second round through the full 16-week program so participants can really dig in and, in community, finalize their caches of magnetic marketing materials. Once created and documented, people can draw from this resource for as long as they continue their life’s work. Yes, their marketing will evolve as their work does, but since the cache of materials created is based on the individual’s inner truth and somatic regulation, it never needs to be recreated.
Just like Compassionate Inquiry®, there’s no comparison, better or worse, or competition in MPM. So what traditional marketing calls a Unique Selling Proposition (what makes us unique, better, or different, and what makes us stand out in the crowd) we reframed as our Unique Sovereign Presence. We talked earlier about how refining our essence is like distilling Scotch. Our unique sovereign presence is our essence. It resonates with certain people, just as the notes of a certain scotch resonate with those who appreciate them. Others turn away. In this way, our Unique Sovereign Presence contributes to our ability to attract ‘right-fit’ clients and gently redirect ‘wrong-fit’ clients.
“When I feel my unique sovereign presence, I’m noticing a lack of puffed-upness, of ego. It’s like I’m taking up the space that is rightfully mine. I have no desire to take up anyone else’s space. They too have a right to feel into their Unique Sovereign Presence. These two things don’t compete. Whereas when we talk about a Unique Selling Point, it’s combative and competitive. One has to beat the other. One has to be brighter or get more attention. There’s an egoness, versus a lack of ego with Unique Sovereign Presence. It sounds like not sharing, offering or revealing your Unique Sovereign Presence would actually be doing people a disservice.” – Kevin Young
This takes me back to the man Magnetic Presence Marketing is modelled on, Dr. Gabor Maté. When he steps onto a stage and begins to speak, we experience his Unique Sovereign Presence. It’s palpable. It’s attractive. It’s magnetic. Imagine if he had been blocked from sharing his presence and his work with the world.
Another aspect of MPM that mirrors Compassionate Inquiry® is inviting clients to offer feedback. By sharing their words in our marketing, we help future clients self-select in and self-select out. It’s important to paint a clear picture of who is a ‘right-fit client,’ who your offerings are for, and who they won’t serve well. Again, modelling Gabor, “This is not for everyone.” MPM also stays away from the guru/supplicant inequity by keeping our positioning equal and integrating humility and compassion. If you sell someone something that they quickly realize is not right for them, a Magnetic Presence Marketing-trained practitioner would work something out with that individual. They wouldn’t say, “Sorry, that’s on you.” A certain energy rises when someone makes a mistake or lands in the wrong place that calls for exploration, empathy, understanding, and compassion.
MPM also adopted the Compassionate Inquiry® no-agenda approach. We share our authentic essence and then trust that our magnetism, our Unique Sovereign Presence, will attract whoever we’re meant to serve or collaborate with. There’s also no manipulation, which is so refreshing. We give up all ownership of results, put ourselves out there, and trust that ‘right-fit’ clients, partners or colleagues will be naturally attracted to our essence.
Magnetic Presence Marketing truly is an approach that healing and helping professionals can use to feel as good about their marketing as they do about their work. Because there’s no feeling more potent, exciting, and fulfilling than embracing our authenticity.
