My path to Compassionate Inquiry started a few years ago when I was a stay at home mom of five children. I struggled to keep up with them, with their ever changing needs and with the world around us. In 2018 I‘ve read a book by Dr. Gordon Neufeld and Gabor Maté and “Hold onto your Kids” and it opened a new perspective for me. Through Compassionate Inquiry I found a new world of connection, acceptance and compassion not only around me but also within me. I’ve learned that we cannot control what happened to us, but we can become responsible for how we perceive that, and able to respond to it.
My main focus is on parents, their struggle to be „perfect“ and not to pass on their own childhood traumas to their children. Being a parent is probably the most difficult role in a person's life. We can't try it out and we also don't have enough time to prepare for parenthood. But as Dr. Gabor Maté says „ Parenting is not about techniques. Parenting is about relationship. It’s that simple...“.
