Kat Ballam
- Psychologist

I was drawn to psychology at a young age through a deep desire to understand people and make sense of the world. I’ve always been naturally curious, with a strong interest in the deeper questions of human experience and existence. Growing up between Lake Ontario in Eastern Canada in the 1980s and Shawnigan Lake in Western Canada in the 1990s fostered a strong connection to nature, community, music, and authentic self-expression — influences that continue to ground and inspire both my personal and professional life.
I spent six years working as a tree planter to fund my education, which strengthened my resilience, perseverance, and humility. I completed my BA in Psychology in 2008, and have since continued exploring the mind-body-spirit connection through yoga, meditation, and holistic wellness practices. Travel and time immersed in different cultures continues to deepen my appreciation for the complexity of human experience and our shared need for meaning, healing, and connection.
Since 2018, I have worked with hundreds of clients as a clinical counsellor, supporting individuals navigating a range of concerns, including sexual trauma, complex PTSD, relationship challenges, addiction, life transitions, self-esteem, grief, depression, and anxiety. I am deeply passionate about the healing process and inspired by what becomes possible when people commit to their own growth and well-being. I feel honoured to support clients as they navigate life’s challenges, reconnect with themselves, and move toward greater ease and well-being.
I hold a master’s degree in Counselling Psychology and am a Canadian Certified Counsellor. Most insurance providers across Canada recognize CCPA for coverage. I also connect with people internationally. Please reach out to me if you wish to have a free discovery call.
